The Maison Pasquale Story

How It All Began

Maison Pasquale was born from a deep passion for inspiring others to embrace the joys of eating well and traveling often. Across Europe, specialty food shops dot the towns, celebrating the best of local flavors and traditions. Our goal is to bring that experience to Chicago, creating a space where customers feel like they've stepped into a classic European store—known in France as an épicerie—without ever leaving the city.

Welcome Home

Founded by Julia Casale and Patrick Walsh, two seasoned hospitality professionals with a shared love of exceptional food, wine, and convivial gatherings, Maison Pasquale is deeply rooted in French and Italian culture. The name Pasquale pays homage to Julia’s Italian grandfather, who ran a small wine shop in Upstate New York during her childhood and inspired her studies in hospitality at The Culinary Institute of America. Maison, meaning 'home' in French, reflects the warmth and familiarity we aim to provide—a neighborhood shop designed to feel like a second home for all who visit. This sentiment is deeply personal for Patrick, who grew up in Provence, France surrounded by its rich culinary traditions and sense of community.
